Jeffery Graves

Jeffery Graves, 58, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:02am, Wednesday, April 29th, 2009, at his home. He was born on July 27, 1950, in Wichita Falls, TX, the son of Samuel and Bertha (Sears) Graves, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Cathy Clow on June 11, 1983, in Westville, IL. She will miss him dearly. Others survivors include: his sons, Jeffery (Ginger) Graves of California, Kevin Graves of Nebraska, Joe Graves, Noah Graves, & Matthew Graves, all of Georgetown; his four grandchildren; his one great grandchild; his brother, Tim (Janet) Graves of Ridge Farm; and his special friends, Terry Manning and Frank Dixon, both of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Greg Graves. Jeff was a Pipefitter and a member of the Local 149. He worked for and loved the University of Illinois. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and served in Vietnam and then he served as a tailgunner until 1982. He really enjoyed spending time with his buddies and also spending time working on hot rods with his son, Joe. He will be missed by those who loved him. A celebration of Jeffs life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Kim Dancy will officiate the service. Visitation will be held 5p-7p, Friday, May 1, 2009, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
