Jeannie M. Filicsky

Tilton – Jeannie M. Filicsky, 70, of Tilton, passed away at 10:47 AM on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. She was born March 9, 1955 in Danville to Floyd Arnold and Alberta Marie (Miller) Rice. She married Patrick J. Filicsky on June 30, 1978 in Tilton. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Nathan Filicsky of Tilton; a granddaughter, McKenzie Filicsky; a brother, Arthur Rice; and many very special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an uncle, Howard (Mary) Rice.

After High School, Jeannie earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Illinois University and went on to earn her master’s degree from Olivet University. Jeannie then spent most of her career teaching history at North Ridge in District 118. Outside of school, she was known to meticulously plan all of the family gatherings and get-togethers.

A service to celebrate the life of Jeannie Filicsky will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Matt Filicsky will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service on Monday, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials in her name made be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
