Jeannette Irene Dalbey Tutwiler, 84, of Danville passed away surrounded by her adoring children at 11:10 a.m. on Friday April 11, 2008, at North Logan Healthcare Center. Jeannette was born on December 6, 1923 in Oakwood, the daughter of Oliver and Zella Ogg Dalbey. On October 4, 1946, she married Virgil L. Tutwiler, Sr. in Kankakee, IL. Her beloved and devoted husband of 51 years preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. Beloved mother of Virgil (Sherry) L. Tutwiler, Jr, of Georgetown, Il, Brenda J. (Ed) Dwiggins, Charlene A. ( Michael) Snedeker, Rena J. (Walter) Hamm, all of Danville, Il and Lorraine Lorie L. (James) Quick of Tilton, Il; stepmother of Raymond E. (Janet) Tutwiler of Milwaukee, Wi.; cherished grandmother of Heath Dwiggins of Alexandria, VA, Whitney Newell of Danville,IL., Marcey (Michael) Swinford of Martinsville, IN., Jennifer (Trent) Ryan of Ft. Myers, FL.,Nathan (Rimi) Bantz of Sasebo, Japan, Jacob (Amber) Tutwiler of Danville, Natalee Bantz of Danville, Jessica (Luke) Janosik of Westville, IL, Sarah (Jason) Hudson of Westville and Ashley Quick of Tilton, IL.; Great "Grandmother of 11 and Great Great- Grandmother of 1; dearest sister of Bobby J. (Wilma) Dalbey of St. Joseph, Il., Ruth (Bud) OLaughlin of Ft. Wayne, In., Mary (Milton) Shanks of Indianapolis, In., June (Ken) Poynter Summers of Maggie Valley, NC., and Maxine (Ronald) Davis of Fairmount, IL.; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; dear friend of the Reverend and Mrs. Clifford L. Kissinger of Springfield, OH and many others who will miss her. Her parents Oliver and Zella Ogg Dalbey of Fairmount, IL also preceded her in death, brothers Aaron (Helen) Dalbey of Fairmount, IL. and Clarence (Libby) Dalbey of Westville, IL. and a sister Edith (Burl) Sutton of Danville, IL.Jeannettes great loves of her life were her adoring husband,Virgil Tut, and their six children. Jeannette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and took pride in her family and home. Jeannette was a homemaker while her children were young and then worked several years for Kroger and other food stores. She loved jewelry, crocheted expertly, and enjoyed playing euchre and board games with her family and circle of friends. She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was very active with many church groups and organizations over the years, along with the Euchre Club and the PTA. She loved to read mysteries and enjoyed spending time and shopping with her children, sister Maxine, and friends. She loved gospel and country music, had a great sense of humor, and was a Washington Redskins fan. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nursing staff and administrators at North Logan Healthcare and Carle Hospice for their care and personal attention given their mother during her stay at the nursing facility and to Dr. Brij Sodhi for providing her over 30 years of excellent medical service. A celebration of Jeannettes life will be held on Wednesday April 16, 2008 at 10:00a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Pastor Mark Keyser will officiate. Burial will take place following at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15.
