Jeanette H. Dickson

Jeanette H. Edmiston Dickson, 84 of Danville, passed away at 11:05 a.m. Friday December 27, 2013 at her home. She was the daughter of Frank E. and Jessie L. Whipple Edmiston, born on July 29, 1929 in Ridge farm, IL. There is one sister surviving the original family of twelve children. Alice Hajne of Tucson, AZ. In 1949 she married Ernest M. Dickson and from that marriage four children were born. They are: Cynthia Ann (Don) Swaney of Covington, IN, and Cheryl Lynn Kinney (Lorin) of Fithian, IL. There was no relationship for the past several years with the other two children. The couple separated in 1976. There a four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Jeanette was a registered nurse and worked since high school graduation in the nursing field. She graduated from Lake View Hospital of Nursing in 1950 and had worked in all three Danville Hospitals. In 1989 she retired from the Danville Veterans Medical Center after almost 22 years of service at that hospital. By her request there will be no funeral service or visitation. She will be cremated and the ashes will rest in a designated area. She also requests no memorials and that you shed no tears for me. God blessed me with a good life and my final victory has come.
