Jean G. Edsall, 90, of Danville passed away Monday, July 8, 2014 surrounded by her family at home. Born April 10, 1924 she was the daughter of Claude and Wilma (Gregory) Anderson. On May 5, 1946 she married Merrel E. Edsall in Beardstown, Illinois. He preceded her in death in January of 2001. Jean loved being in the kitchen, cooking and baking for everyone. She was in her glory when her family was all together, and she was feeding them. She loved playing bingo, spending time with her church family, and one of her favorite flowers was lilacs. But most of all she loved her family and making them feel loved. Jean is survived by a daughter, Donna (Thom) Stanley of Danville; four sisters, Betty (Paul) Chartos of Hammond, Indiana, Jan Anderson of Beardstown, Illinois, Nancy (Carol) Lovekamp of Rushville, Illinois, and Sherry (David) Taylor of Beardstown, Illinois; two grandsons, Mark Edsall of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Scott (Blair) Edsall of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister in law, Margaret (Bill) Branson of Ipava, Illinois; and one brother in law, Bill (Annie) Edsall of Canton, Illinois. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Donald Edsall. A service celebrating Jeans life will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville, with Pastor Jake Maymon officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be at a later date in Danville National Cemetery.
