GEORGETOWN- J.C. Dill, 80, of Georgetown passed away at 2:45am on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Dill was born on October 4, 1926, the son of Joseph and Millie (Allen) Dill, both deceased. J.C. was first united in marriage to Ms. Martha Brigman until her death in 1984. From this union, he is survived by: his five children, J.C. (Kathy) Dill Jr. of Liberty, NC, Shirley Ann Dill of Georgetown, Cathy (Larry) Morris of Georgetown, Susan (Tim) Voges of Ogden, IL, Debra Dill of Kokomo, IN, and her daughter, Cheri Colbert of Kokomo, IN. On June 8, 1985, J.C. married Ms. Janet B. (Knight) Sanders at the Forest Glen County Preserve in Westville. She survives. Also surviving: his step-children, JoAnn (Kevin) Ferrante of Georgetown, Kathy (Paul) Busky of Connecticut, Monty Sanders of Georgetown, Karen Scrogham of Paxton, IL, and Jeff (Liegh) Sanders of Lake Iroquois, IL; his 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and his sister, Lucille Price of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by three sons, three brothers, seven sisters, and one step-daughter. J.C. was a Navy veteran during WWII. After being honorably discharged, he was employed with General Motors Tilton Foundry, as well as owning and operating Dills Sunoco Gas Station in Catlin, Dills Disposal Service, and Davies Packing, until retiring. In his spare time, J.C enjoyed fishing, playing cards and being with his family. A celebration of J.C.s life is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Pastor Leon Korb will officiate. Final resting place will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the funeral home.
