Danville- Jayne A. Odle, 77, of Danville passed away Saturday (Jan. 2, 2016) at 10:09 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Jayne was born on May 22, 1938 in Muncie, IN to Charles and Mayme Jordan Davisson. They preceded her in death as well as her brother Charlie Davisson. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rex Odle; her daughters; Kathy (Roger) Reeves of Carmel, IN, Debbie Meador of Carbondale, IL, Connie (Dave) Park of Lenzburg, IL and Beth (Mike) VadeBonCoeur of Danville. Other survivors include her 7 grandchildren; Patrick and Sean Reeves, Will and Audrey Meador, Georgia Park, Amanda and Ryan VadeBonCoeur; her sisters in law Marilyn Davisson and Marilyn (Wendell) Cooprider and her brother in law Morris (Barbara) Odle. Growing up Jayne was active in Jobs Daughters and in 4H. She and Rex met following a basketball game at Ball State University and married later that year. After several moves they settled in Danville in 1970. First and foremost Jayne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a teacher's aide in Danville School District #118. Her career began at Liberty Elementary school, then she moved to North Ridge Middle School, and she finally retired from Danville High School. She never missed a parent-teacher conference, a concert, or a sporting event. She didn't believe that there was any reason to make a grade of B if your kids were capable of an A. She was a regular chaperone on Marching Band trips as well as during band camps. Other kids knew that she meant business; her daughters and grandchildren knew that she would move mountains to accomplish what needed done and that she had the biggest heart especially for her children and son in laws. She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church. For many years she worked with the Sunday School Program, sang in the choir, and participated in United Methodist Women and the summer sack lunch program. Several summers she accompanied the youth group on their Appalachian Service Project. Jayne was also an active member of the PEO Organization and regularly played bridge.
