Jayce Duane Griffin

Jayce Duane Griffin, 2, of Urbana, IL, was taken from the world too soon, to be with the Lord,on the morning of Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.

He was born November 1, 2020 in Urbana, a son of Jasmine Riggs.

He is survived by his mother, Jasmine of Urbana, a brother Carter Rogers, age 6, at home, grandparents William Duane Calbert of Rantoul; Shelly Riggs of Urbana, great-grandparents, Alice Calbert of Rantoul, Ann (Dave) Stanley of Urbana, uncle Jaydon Riggs of Urbana and aunt Jenessa Jacobson of Little Rock, AR.

Also surviving are his best friends, Beau Bitiun and Zion Gatson both of Champaign.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather William C Calbert.

Jayce was a free-spirited, outgoing child.  He was energetic and often won in the fight matches with grandpa.  He always had some kind of ball in his hand. He was athletic and showed great potential.  He played with his brother and friends and was so full of life.  His smile was contagious and his shy look was even more adorable.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday at the Vineyard Church, 1500 North Lincoln, Urbana.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.

Visitation is from 10:00 - 12:00, just prior to the service at the Vineyard.
