Jay Hein

Jay Hein, 51, of Danville passed away on February 14, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 2, 1966 the son of Jere and Margaret "Maggie" (Christian) Hein. Jay is survived by his brothers; Jeff (Linn) Hein of Holland, MI, Jon (Ashley) Hein of Chicago, IL, nephews; Justin, Luke, John Ryan, Liam and Owen, nieces; Eileen and Lauren, many cousins with special cousin, Michelle Hein and lots of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, granny, Margaret Christian, and brother Jac Hein. Jay was an active member of the community and had a large number of lifelong friends earned through his years in the automobile, real estate, and neighborhood bar businesses. Jay lived his life helping people, especially those in need. He was passionate about keeping Danville a thriving community. He also enjoyed visiting Las Vegas, spending time with friends, boating on Lake Vermilion, racquetball, dining out with family and friends, golfing, and area real estate. He especially loved his dogs Dino and Mia. Jay took joy in hosting family gatherings, keeping in touch with his nieces and nephews, and valued his relationships with friends. One of his endearing qualities was that he completely believed in the goodness within people. Jay was very proud of his brothers Jac, Jeff, and Jon and cherished his relationship with their children. Jay had a strong faith in God and through that Faith had a trusting heart and a strong compassion for others. Jay will be dearly missed by his brothers, sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and many incredible friends in the community. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 1-5PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with a prayer service starting at 5:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Monday, February 19, 2108 at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
