Jason Matthew Pratt

Danville - Jason Matthew Pratt, 44, of Danville, IL passed away at his home of an apparent heart attack on September 22, 2018 at 4:38 AM. Jason was born on September 23, 1973 the son of Steven Lee and Ruth Ann (Scarlett) Pratt in Danville, IL. Survivors include his parents; Steven and Ruth Ann Pratt of Danville, IL, his brother; Christopher (Amy Beth) Pratt of Danville, IL, four nephews; Quenton, Carter, Kolten and Keaton Pratt, all of Danville, IL, as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Jason is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents; Max and Dorothy Scarlett and his Paternal Grandparents; Warren and Betty Pratt. Jason was a well-known tattoo artist in the area and beyond for over 20 years. He had owned two shops in Champaign and worked at various other shops in the area, the most recent being Iron Tide in Danville, IL. Jason won many competitions at various tattoo conventions across the country and had several pieces of his works published in books. Hundreds of people are proud to wear his works of art. Jason was also a very talented painter. In his free time, Jason loved to fish at Lake Mingo and at Homer Lake. He especially loved fishing in the ocean on several family vacations. Jason was also an avid coin collector and enjoying trips to Indianapolis and Champaign to coin shops with his nephew Quenton. Jason was the best son, brother and friend you could ever have. He was loyal, dedicated and always stuck to his convictions to the end. His friends and family enjoyed his sarcastic sense of humor, but he was always very humble and never needed anyone's approval for what he did or believed in. A Celebration of life for Jason will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, with Bill Ludington officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
