Jason Lee Rice, 38 of Danville, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at 5:14PM at his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Rice of Danville; his son, Ethan; his parents, Doug Rice of Palmyra, WI and Phyllis Rice of Chesterfield, VA; two sisters, Rebekah Rice of Milwaukee, WI and Lydia (Stephen) Hickok of Chesterfield, VA; nieces Lilly, Adelaid, Magnolia, and one on the way; his paternal grandmother, Alice Rice of Michigan; and his in-laws, Larry and Barb Potts of Danville. Jason is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and both his maternal grandparents. Jason was born September 30, 1976 in Pensacola, FL to Doug and Phyllis (Minton) Rice. He graduated from Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, WI with a bachelors degree in biblical studies and went on to do some graduate studies. Jason married Rachel Nichole Potts on June 7, 2008 in Watertown, WI. They then had one son, Ethan, whom Jason loved to spend time with. Jason was a member of the Danville Municipal Band in which he played the tuba. He was also a member of the First Baptist church where he led the church orchestra and was in charge of the mens singing group. He was also a member of the Maranatha Baptist University Alumni Association. Jason was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan. A celebration of Jasons life will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 1211 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Pastor Paul Rebert will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the church. Memorials can be made to the fund set up in Jasons name at Danville Bell Credit Union, 3591 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL.
