Janice Youhas

Janice S. Yauhas, age 72, of Oakwood passed away at 7:20 pm on Monday, March 26, 2007 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born May 20, 1934 in Covington, IN the daughter of D. Clayton and Nellie (Hughes) Holycross. She married Andrew Youhas on April 11, 1952 in Westville. He preceded her in death in 1985. Janice is survived by three sons: Michael (Janie) Youhas of Mattoon, IL, Jim (Betsy) Youhas of Oakwood, IL, David Youhas of Oakwood, IL.; two daughters: Linda (Bruce) Griffith of Oakwood, Debora (Brian) Ellis of Danville; two sisters: Doris (Melvin) Blackford of Danville, Marlene (Harold) Coonradt of Penrose, CO.; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three special friends: Kenny Cooke, Shirley Quick, and Linda Strain. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one grandson. Janice was a graduate of Danville High School, DACC, and Lakeview School of Nursing. She worked for years at St. Elizabeths Hospital in the Pediatrics Ward then worked for over twenty years at the VA Hospital in Danville. Janice loved Genealogy and volunteered at the Genealogical Society of Danville. She also enjoyed crocheting and collecting spoons.
