Janice Richardson

Janice Ann Richardson, 60, of Catlin, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 7th, 2010. Janice was born on March 29th, 1950, in Danville, the daughter of Glen and Margaret (Baumgart) Murphy. She married Donald Richardson on August 4th, 1984. He survives. She is also survived by her mother- Margaret Murphy of Danville; four daughters- Barbara (Darren) York of Danville, Mary Lena (Ed) Hutchison of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carole Wells of Danville, and Susan (John) Jaynes of Chatham, Illinois; one son- Jon (Jill) Richardson of Danville; one brother- Gordon (Cheryl) Murphy of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; two sisters- Barbara (Kim) Drew of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cynthia Roderick of Jensen Beach, Florida; aunt- Emma Jane Brown of Danville; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and aunt and uncle-Delores and Orville Miller. Janice graduated from Danville High School in 1968. She worked as a B.D. teacher for several years, most recently at VASE. She also enjoyed teaching at Family Life Skills in Danville. Janice was a member of the Community Church of God and thrived on studying the Bible. Many people benefited from her lectures whether they wanted to or not. Janice was a lover of animals, especially dogs and horses. Don and Janice enjoyed traveling and camping together. She treasured her family. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. Above all, her priority in all things was to serve and bring glory to her Heavenly Father. A Celebration of the life of Janice Ann Richardson will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11th, 2010 at Community Church of God in Danville, with Pastor Joel Ferren officiating. Burial will be following the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home.
