Janice Olive Eckel

Janice Olive Eckel, 82, of Danville, Illinois left our physical world at 3:28 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center.

She was born on February 2, 1937 to Albert and Farrell (Billie) Garwood.

She is survived by siblings; Larry (Sarah) Garwood and Sandy Abernathy; children, Cindy parker, Rick Eckel and Mike (Connie) Eckel; grandchildren, Tom, Cori, Jessica, Michelle and Amber; great-grandchildren, Austin, Dustin, Destiny, Trinity, Jase, Allison, Shawn, Emmit, Davina and Jacob.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Mel Potter, her father, mother, stepmother-Ruby and her beloved grandson, Rick Eckel.

She was a loving, doting mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a loyal, caring friend. She was always there for anyone who needed her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Janices life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 29,2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
