Janice Lou Bell

Covington, Ind. -- Janice Lou Bell, 85, of Covington, passed away at 3:25 p.m. EDT Friday, August 26, 2011 at The Waters of Clinton in Clinton, Indiana. She was born June 13, 1926 in Covington, Indiana the daughter of the late Orin S. and Hazel E. Martin Hatton. She married Merrill H. Bell on April 16, 1944 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death in November 1993. Survivors include a son, Tim(Jean)Bell of Cayuga, Indiana; two grandchildren, Christopher(Shelli)Bell and Julie(Chris)Hochschild; and a great-grandson, Colin Hochschild. She was preceded in death by her son, Tom O. Bell. Janice was a member of the Williams Chapel Church in Johnsonville, Indiana. She worked as a secretary at Covington Elementary School for several years. She was a former member of the Tri-Kappa in Covington, Indiana. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat, Sabrina. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Hana Johnson; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Monday, August 29, 2011 at the funeral home.
