GEORGETOWN - Janice LaRue Kelley, 86, of Georgetown, passed away with her children by her side at 10:15am, Wednesday, December 27th, 2006, at North Logan Health Care Center in Danville. She was born to Charles and Bessie (Jones) Weaver on July 27th, 1920, in Sidell, Missouri. She married Carl Kelley on December 24th, 1942, in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 23rd, 1995. Those who will miss her include: her sons, Mike (Patty) Kelley and Robert (Peggy) Kelley, both of Georgetown; her daughter, Janet (Larry) Moss of Bismarck; her five grandchildren, Todd Kelley of Alvin, Shane (Lisa) Kelley of Georgetown, Lucas Kelley of Waunakee, WI, Tracy Moss of Danville, & Carrie Moss of Avon, IN; her six great grandchildren, BreeAnn Kelley, Lyndi Kelley, Ross Kelley, Tanner Kelley, Sam Kelley, & Max Kelley; her sisters, Bertha Conant of Georgetown and Mary Raymer of Creve Couer, IL. Her parents and three brothers; Vernon, Ernest, & Faye Weaver, preceded Jan in death. Jan graduated from Eastern Illinois University and was a substitute teacher for many years within Georgetown Schools. She was a devoted member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown and was a Sunday school teacher who was very involved with church events. She worked many years in the Georgetown Fair office. She also volunteered at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village of Chrisman and with Illiana Genealogical Historical Society. She loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren. A celebration of Jans life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 29th, 2006, at the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. Steve Rutter will officiate. A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 2:00pm also on Friday at the Church. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations for Jan may be made in her name to North Logan Health Care Center, 801 N Logan Ave, Danville, IL, 61832.
