Janice Elaine Mcbride

Cayuga, Ind. - Janice Elaine (Fortner) McBride, 84, passed away in the loving arms of Jesus, on April 22, 2020 at 11:18 a.m. EDT.

Janice was born in Cayuga on February 14, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Forrest and Celia (Snyder) Fortner. Janice was a graduate of Cayuga, Class of 1954. Janice deeply loved and married her husband, Leonard R. McBride (surviving) on October 30, 1957 in Cayuga.

Janice was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She loved caring for her husband and children. She enjoyed scratch cooking, visiting her family and friends and loved being with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She and her husband attended the Cayuga Christian Church.

Janice was very close to her parents, siblings and her nieces and nephews.

Janice leaves behind her husband Leonard; daughter: Donna (Bill) Livengood of Mitchell, Indiana; daughter: Shelly (Tom) Polf of Attica, Indiana; son: Mark (Mary) McBride of Dana, Indiana and daughter: Tasha (Dan) Murray of Waynetown, Indiana; nine grandchildren: Chad (Misty) Allen, Tai (Josh) Tolle, Seth (Laura) Murray, Zachary McBride, Caleb (Fiance Kaylyn Rager) Murray, Lance Livengood, Lucas Livengood, Jennifer (Robert) Wright and Noah McBride, and nine great grandchildren.

Janice was preceded in death by her son-in-law: Donald Ray Allen, and her siblings: Linda Johnson, Larry Fortner, Phyllis Self, Priscilla Lanie Nash, Delores Haga and Phillip Fortner.

Due to the current health crisis a private family graveside service will be held at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana with Ashton Stewart officiating. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46209-4830 or to the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278. The family would like to also thank Williamsport Health and Rehabilitation Center along with Heart to Heart Hospice for their special love and care that was provided for our wife and mother. The family would also like to thank DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana for assisting the family with arrangements.
