Janice Devoss

Janice DeVoss, 72, of Danville, passed away at 4:48am, Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on August 26, 1943, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Alvin Lee and Helen E. {Merry}Williams. She was formerly married to Kenneth E. DeVoss on June 5, 1964; he preceded her in death on March 4, 2013. Janice is survived by: her daughters, Debra (Stephen) Kotcher of Indianola & Laura DeVoss of Danville; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Terry) Kennedy of Georgetown, Faith Setser of Danville, & Kenneth DeVoss Brown of Danville. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Helen Ervin; step-father, Clarence Ervin; her father., Alvin Williams; step-mother, Helen Williams; her sister, Joyce B. Quick; and her grandmother, Mabel DuPriest; and her Grandfather DuPriest. Janice retired from Heatcraft in Danville. She was a member of the Eastern Star Amaranth. She was a true animal lover and especially loved her horses. She enjoyed doing floral designing, cake decorating, and was very artistic, as well as creative. She had also enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader. Janice cherished her family above all else and loved spending time with them. A celebration of Janice's life will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Danville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 1pm-3pm Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
