Janet Spangler

Janet Spangler, 57, of Georgetown, passed away at 12:11am, Sunday, February 26, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville. She was born on November 6, 1965, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Harold E. and Eva L. {Odell} Spangler, both deceased. She is survived by her children, Jonathon Fassold, Jammie Fassold, Justin Fassold, and Jacob Fassold; her eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter with one great grandson on the way; her siblings, James Spangler, Bill Spangler, Katherine Spangler, and Susan Scarbrough; and several nieces and nephews, including her special nieces, Erica, Jessica, Deanna; as well as many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Caskey. Janet worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many area facilities. She currently worked at Lucky 7s in Georgetown. She enjoyed playing with her grandkids and spending time with family. Janet was very close with Jessica and Susan. She enjoyed playing the slot machines and playing games on her phone. She was known to many as very spiritual and those around her were impacted by her open, loving spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She will be dearly remembered for sharing her favorite quote with everyone, "Oh Happy Day!" A celebration of Janets life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. Visitation will be 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home prior to her service. As were her wishes, she will be accorded cremation rites.
