Janet Sands

Janet L. Jan Sands, 61, of Westville, passed away at 11:40pm in the emergency room at Provena U.S.M.C. Thursday, October 19, 2006. She was born February 1, 1945 in Danville, IL the daughter of Zean and Esther Verden Smalley. Janet married Ralph Sands Sr.on August 24, 1963 in Danville. He preceded her in death on February 19,1991.She is survived by her sons Ralph (Kari) Sands Jr. and Mark Sands: her brother Paul (Priscilla) Smalley: Aunt Mildred Verden and uncle Merle Verden; Nieces and nephews Sandy Wright, Lana Curry, Toni Brutlag, Holly Matthews, Mary Cade, Paul Smalley, Alan Smalley, Tim Kendall, and Debbie Holycross; Great nieces and nephews Heather, Kim, Jessica, Chuck, Emily, Randi, Marisa, Nick, Andy, Molly, Lucas, Neil, and Melissa. Great great nieces and nephews Squirt, Zaner, Cow, Piglet, Dillon, Renee, A.J., Dalton, Dylan, Jessica, Aaron, Sophia and Melissa. Also a dear friend Dee Sprague. Janet was preceded by her parents, husband Ralph Sr. and sisters Lleanna Santi and Illeana Waltz. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a former Sr. Regent, she enjoyed crocheting and loved most of all spending time with her great great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 11:00am until time of services at 1:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating Rev. Dustin Wells. Burial will be at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian.
