Janet Peyton

Janet Peyton, 83, of Covington passed away peacefully on Friday January 17, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Janet was born in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Guy and Hilda (Harrington) Cade on August 13, 1941. Janet married the love of her life Earl Peyton on December 18,1959. They enjoyed 63 years together before his passing.

Janet leaves behind her three children; Curtis (Michele) Peyton, Brian (Holly) Peyton, and Diana (John) Adams, her grandchildren; Marissa (Daniel) Trehern, Maissie (Nathen) Jenkins, Tabitha (Josh) Barton, Chelsea Smalling, Tiara Peyton, Taylor Peyton, Brice Peyton, Briley Peyton, Katheryne (Lawrence) Siudmak, and Jakob Zarn. She also had nineteen great grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Janet worked at Covington High School as a Secretary. She was an active member at First Church of Christ, enjoyed playing cards, taking pictures and arranging them, and also crocheting. Most of all she was so proud to go to her grandchildren’s events cheering them on and seeing them accomplish goals.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana, from noon-2pm. Service will take place at the funeral home at 2pm. Pastors Bob Fairchild and Joey Emrick will officiate. The burial will follow at Lower Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Janet’s name to Alzheimer’s Association.
