Janet Moore

Janet Frances Moore, 78, of Danville, formerly of Arcola, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011, at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Janet was born on October 8th, 1932 in Arcola, Illinois, the daughter of Carroll Vellam and Opal (Shirar) Moore. She attended schools in Arcola and was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. She was employed by the State of Illinois, Department of Public Aid, for 36 years, retiring in November of 1990. She was preceded in death by her parents. Janet was very active in the Vermilion County Republican Women and the Ridgeview Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and playing the piano. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 25th, 2011 at Arcola Township Cemetery, with Pastor Don Winch officiating. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3838 North Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois or to the Arcola Presbyterian Church 311 East Jefferson Street Arcola, Illinois.
