Danville - Janet L. Leisch, 74, of Danville went to be with the Lord at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday at The Waters Nursing Home in Covington, Indiana. Janet was born on August 20, 1942 in Clinton Indiana, and was the daughter of Wilson and Doyne Dwiggins. She was preceded in death by her parents. She married Philip Leisch on July 17, 1971. He survives. Also surviving are one brother, Ed (Brenda) Dwiggins of Danville, one sister Marianne (Alan) Carter of Danville; niece Stacy (Derek) Edwardson of Westfield, Indiana, nephews Heath Dwiggins of Alexandria, Virginia and Troy (Emily) Carter of Danville, two great nieces Gracie and Mia Edwardson. Janet was employed at the Danville Commercial-News as librarian for 43 years, retiring in 2005. Janet was a faithful lifelong member of the Second Church of Christ. She enjoyed numerous church activities, spending time with her niece, nephews and great nieces, volunteering at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home, cooking and taking care of her three cats. Celebration of Janet's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, at the Second Church of Christ, 3350 E Voorhees St., Danville. Drew Mentzer will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church. With Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in charge of arrangements. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Waters for their care and also the staff of Guardian Angel Hospice Care of Lafayette, Indiana.
