Janet L. John

Janet L. John, 82, of Danville passed away on Monday August 17, 2020. She was born in Danville on December 15, 1937 the daughter of Samuel and Lena Moseman. On June 12, 1956 Janet married the love of her life, Thomas J. John, and they spent the next 44 years together before his passing in 2000.

Janet is survived by her sons, Tommy (Dawn) John, Eddie (Brenda) John; grandchildren, Kyle (Stevi) John, Kaycee (Cody) Rapier, Amber John, Zach John; great-grandchildren, Kane, Jack, Bennett; and extended family, Ellen Goon, Edwin Goon and Galvin Goon.

She is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Lena Moseman, husband, Thomas John and extended family, Johnny Goon.

Janet and Thomas owned and operated Toms Laundry. Janet would later work at General Electric / Valmont for 35 years.

Janet was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Illini. She was also a member of the Citizens Police Academy. In her spare time Janet enjoyed drawing, wood carving, fishing, taking walks and knitting blankets for her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her family during holiday gatherings.

A Celebration of Janets life will take place at 2pm on Monday August 24, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
