Janet L. Acree

Janet L. Acree, 72, of Danville, passed away on Friday morning, September 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born on January 23, 1939, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Sam and Ruth (McMann) Pratt. Both deceased. She married Elbert Acree Jr. on September 1, 1956. He survives, along with their four children; Steve (Jenna) Acree of Pontiac, IL; Bud (Cindy) Acree of Danville, Sherry (Dale) Daugherty of Danville, and Mary Tutwiler, also of Danville. She is also survived by her fifth teen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, three brothers; Randy Pratt; Sam Pratt; Bob Pratt, and one sister; Judy Pratt. In addition to her parents, her two brothers; Jack and Gene Pratt preceded Janet in death. She worked as a house keeper at Provena USMC for many years. Janet enjoyed all varieties and colors of flowers, mushroom hunting and being with her husband of 55 years, as well as the entire family. Just being outside with nature was one of Janet's favorite things to do. She will be missed by all that knew her. Per her and the family's wishes, services will be private. She will be cremated at our on-site crematory under the immediate direction of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N.
