Janet K. Conger

Hillsdale, Ind. - Janet K. Conger, 75, of Hillsdale passed away at 11:40 a.m. EDT Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her residence.

She was born March 5, 1945 in Williamsport, Indiana the daughter of the late Lowell V. and Kathleen E. (Balser) Hogue.

Janet married Michael 'Mick' H. Conger on May 16, 1964 at Locust Grove United Methodist Church in Ambia, Indiana. He survives.

Other survivors include her children: Susan D. McKinney of St. Joseph, Illinois and Katherine M. (Darrin) Jackson of Hillsdale, Indiana; three grandchildren: Michael A. McKinney of Alexandria, Virginia; Alexandria N. and Matthew E. Jackson both of Hillsdale, Indiana; brother: Dennis (Karen) Hogue of Ambia, Indiana; brother-in-law: Leo (Megan) Neild of Clinton, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her son-in-law: Donald E. McKinney; Infant sister-in-law: JoAnn Conger; two sister-in-laws: Ellen Williams and Jean Neild and brother-in-law: David Williams.

Janet was a retired Independent Insurance Agent. She was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church, O.E.S. Pimento 516 (Past Worthy Matron); and Champaign-Urbana Court #17, Order of The Amaranth (Past Royal Matron). Janet enjoyed camping, square dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Graveside service and inurnment: 2 p.m. EST Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Officiating: Ashton Stewart. Contributions: Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46209-4830 or to the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, C/O Merlene Mundhenk, Grand Secretary, 1608 Jerome Avenue, Springfield, Illinois 62704. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
