GEORGTOWN- Janet F. (Golcynski) Lewis, 72, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:15am on Tuesday, September 27th, 2005, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL. She was born on September 21st, 1933, in Danville, the daughter of Joseph and Flossie (Carrington) Golcynski. On August 9th, 1969, Janet was united in marriage to Wayne Lewis of Georgetown where he continues to reside. Those who will deeply miss her include: her husband of 36 years, Wayne; her daughter, Mary Lea (Dale) Curtis of Heyworth, IL; her brother, John (Eileen) Golcynski of Georgetown; her two sisters; Sue (Tom) Spangler of Georgetown and Mary Helen (Harold) Williams of Penfield, IL; her seven grandchildren, Caleb Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Mariah Johnson, Brandon Curtis, Ben Curtis, Jonah Curtis, and Savannah Curtis. Her parents and her sister, Marilyn, preceded her in death. Janet worked as a secretary for the Georgetown Public Schools for 27 years where she shared a lot of memories with friends and co-workers until her retirement. She enjoyed volunteering herself to work school functions, especially the track meets. She was a life long member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She enjoyed helping with the Christmas Basket Committee and playing Bunko. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. A celebration of Janets life will be 10:00am on Friday, September 30th, 2005, at the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. Officiating will be Steve Rutter. She will be laid to rest at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8pm on Thursday, September 29th, 2005, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, the family has requests that memorial donations can be given in Janets name to the Alzheimers Foundation.
