Janeen Coffing, 78, of Chrisman, IL, passed away at 11:59pm, Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Paris Hospital, Paris, IL. She was born on September 10, 1944, the daughter of Kenneth and Faustine {Blakeney} Hawkins. She was married to Stephen Coffing in 1982. He survives. She is also survived by her sons, Lance (Michelle) Wonderlin and Wesley (Julie) Wonderlin; stepson, Jim (Lynda) Coffing; stepdaughter, Jill (Rodney) Wallace; her eight grandchildren, Rachel Wonderlin, Isaac Wonderlin, Ryan Wonderlin, Paige (Jacob) Morris, Sarah (Daniel) Main, Kendra Wallace, Stephanie Coffing, and Cori Wallace; one great grandchild; her brothers, Kim Hawkins, Blake Hawkins, and Gregg Hawkins; her sisters, Donnell Wolfe, Karen Honnald, & Karla Woodyard; and her several nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one great grandchild; one nephew; and one niece. Janeen attended DACC and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1982. During her career, she worked at Shawnee Center working with the mentally handicapped, Shiloh Elementary School as a teaching assistant for special needs students, Covington Middle School, and Carnegie Library in Ridge Farm. Janeen had many interests which included reading, hunting, fishing, and spending time at "deer camp". She loved to cook while county music played, play Euchre with friends and family, drink coffee in the mornings on the porch swing then Chardonnay in the evenings, and visit with friends at The Ridge. She was known to enjoy taking walks, as well as spoiling and treasuring her dogs. Janeen enjoyed making gifts for her grandchildren and especially loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. As were her wishes, Janeen was accorded cremation rites and there will be a private family graveside service. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm (CST) at The Ridge, 10 South State Street, Ridge Farm, IL 61870.
