Newport, Ind. - Jane Rainey, 73, of Newport, passed away at 5:45 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was born on March 5, 1948 in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of the late Samuel O. and Marybelle (Ory) Pearman.

Jane married Jackie D. Rainey on March 22, 1969 in Newport, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2019.

Survivors include her sister: Joyce Delph of Clinton, Indiana; two sister-in-laws: Debbie Pearman and Betsy Pearman, both of Newport, Indiana; nieces: Laura Miller and Christal Dalbey; Nephews: Matt Pearman and Ron Delph, along with several great nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her sister: Patty Greathouse; two brothers: Marion Pearman and Sammy Pearman, and brother-in-law: Ron Delph.

Jane was a homemaker. She attended the Newport Church of God. She was a member of the Newport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 184. She enjoyed playing bingo, working on puzzles and crafting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. EDT Monday, July 5, 2021 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor John Hawkins and Pastor Ramona Trover; Burial: Hopewell Cemetery in Quaker, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Monday, July 5, 2021 until time of services. Contributions may be made to the Newport Church of God, Newport, Indiana 47966.
