Jane Alena Sowers Shanks

Jane Alena Sowers Shanks, 86, of Danville passed away at 6:35am Thursday November 22, 2007 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Jane was born August 23, 1921 the daughter of Audra and Della Wallace Sowers. She is survived by her sons Larry (Alice) Shanks of Danville, James (Betty) Shanks of Bourbonnais, Marlin (Barbara) Shanks of Danville, and Gale Shanks of Arcola; grandchildren, Pamela (Steve) Shanks, Laura (Bryan Corn) Shanks, Michelle Collom and Jason Shanks; also many great and great great grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister. Over the years she enjoyed crafting, especially embroidery, and will remembered most for her intricate beading, and she was also an excellent seamstress. Time spent with her children and grandchildren was always her greatest joy. A celebration of Janes life will be held on Monday November 26, 2007 at 2:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating Drew Mentzer. Burial will be private. Visitation from 1:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm. Memorials to American Cancer Society appreciated.
