James Wayne Piercy II, 88, of Paxton, formerly of Moline, Illinois, passed away at 2:10 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Illinois Knights Templer Home in Paxton. He was born July 9, 1927 in Lamoni, Iowa, the son of James Monroe and Susan Anna Lowrance Piercy. He married Mary J. Roussell on August 3, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa. She survives. Other survivors include his 5 children; James (Jane) Piercy III of Champaign, Connie (James) O'Connor of Leola, Pennsylvania, Steven Piercy of Coral Springs, Florida, Debra (Robert) Michaelson of Champaign, and Carol (Scott) DeGraeve of Lake Zurich, Illinois; 3 sisters, Roberta Shelton of Citrus Heights, California, Joann Roiland of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ruth Dobbs of Big Bear City, California; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and 1 sister. James retired from International Harvester in East Moline, Illinois in 1981. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Moline, and a member of the Moline Exchange Club. Memorials may be made to Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton, IL and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN. As per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
