James Walter Williford

Urbana - James "Jim" Walter Williford, 90, passed away on Monday January 23, 2017 at Champaign Country Nursing Home in Urbana, IL. He was born on May 3, 1926 in Ridge Farm, IL to James I. and Ora M. (Zigler) Williford. Jim married Betty Ann Glavey on October 5, 1947 in Danville, IL. They separated in 1960 and then remarried on October 5, 2003 in Champaign, IL. Jim is survived by his wife; sister Doris Mae Hamand; brother Raymond Leroy Williford; and nieces Sally Ann Griffin and Martha Hamand. He is preceded in death by his parents; second wife Bernice Williford; and daughter Ida Mae Williford. Jim served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1944-1946, and he loved playing bingo. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 2pm on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL 61820. Memorial visitation will be held prior from 1-2pm at the funeral home. Graveside committal with military honors will take place at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown, IL on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 2:00pm.
