On December 8, 2010, loving husband, father and grandfather James W. Troglia unexpectedly passed away in his sleep at his Westville home at the age of 66. Jim was born on August 26, 1944 in Westville, IL, the son of the late Paul and Katherine Troglia. He is survived by the love of his life, Lois June Lewsader, who he married on June 12, 1965. They celebrated 45 years of marriage this past June. Other survivors include two sons Brian (Sarah) Troglia of Glencoe, IL and Darin (Karen) Troglia of Westville; two brothers Paul Joseph Jr. (Janice) Troglia of Germantown, Maryland and Robert Jean Troglia of Danville; five grandchildren Isabella, Sofia and Cecilia Troglia of Glencoe, IL and Jonah and Olivia Troglia of Westville, and many nieces and nephews. Jim worked for Hyster (NACCO) in Danville and he later accepted a position with the company in Greenville, NC. In 2006 he retired from his career after working with Hyster for over 30 years. He cherished the friendships he developed with his many coworkers, and Jims honesty, integrity and sense of humor will always be fondly remembered. After retirement he decided to go back to his roots to live in Westville where he was raised and where he raised his own family. Over the last few years Jim became bored with full retirement and decided to work part time at Westville Gas and Water. He enjoyed seeing many of the Westville residents that he had known for years and he would always tell his family I love this town; its home. Jims life revolved around his family. To him, family was truly all that mattered in life. He used his retirement as a way to spend as much time as possible with his wife, children and grandchildren and his love of them was evident in everything that he did. He was never afraid to tell his family how much he loved them or to kiss them at any given moment, regardless of where he was or who was present. His outward affection and examples of love in turn defined his family. His lessons on what it means to be a family will never be forgotten and his endless love and compassion will be greatly missed. Even though Jim was taken too soon, he lived a full and wonderful life and he will continue to live in our hearts forever. Visitation will be at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 4pm-7pm. As per Jims request, a private family service will be held on Saturday with Pastor Dave Garver officiating and cremation will be performed at Sunsets onsite Crematory under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home.
