James Lee Vandament James Lee Vandament, 77, of Danville died at 6:50 pm on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the VA hospital in Danville. James was born on April 23, 1931, the son of Stanley Vandament and Alice (McDonald) Van Lieu. He was a 1949 graduate of Danville High School and attended the University of Illinois. On Aug 18, 1962 James married Mary Ann Macke. She survives. Other survivors include daughter Amy E. Vandament, son-in-law James W. Blasko, grandson Xerxes Vandament-Blasko, Sister-in-law Louise Vandament, nieces Susan Vandament and Linda (Brian) Beresford, as well as their three sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Lenoir E. Van Lieu, and brother Richard Dale Vandament. James served his country as a member of the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Westville Sportsmans Club. James was an organization enthusiast who loved reading, art, painting, and most of all his family and dog Spencer. A visitation to celebrate the life of James Lee Vandament will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2008 from 1-3 pm at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (Formerly Lakeside-Barrick) located at 3550 N.
