James R. Tahon, 66, of Georgetown, passed away at 5:40pm, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at his home. He was born on June 23, 1946, in Danville, IL, the son of Marcel and Naomi {Mariage} Tahon, both deceased. He was united in marriage to DeAlice Scott in September 1968 in Danville until her passing. He is survived by his son, Matthew Scott Tahon of Linton, IN, his granddaughter, Lacie Martin of Georgetown, his great granddaughter, Lettie Martin of Georgetown, and his sisters, Flora Brooks of Danville and Marcella Nan' A. (Robert) Coppel of Danville. His brother, Marcel, preceded him in death. Jim worked for General Motors for 34 years until his retirement. He enjoyed going hunting & fishing, as well as, hunting for mushrooms and arrow heads. He was a history buff and was very knowledgeable about the Civil War. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Olivet Church of the Nazarene.
