James Robert Bond

James Robert Bond, son of Marshall Lester and Anna Genevieve (Weaver) Bond, was born on January 9, 1934 in Danville, IL. He was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost on January 15, 1967. He was confirmed on January 22, 1967 and admitted to the altar to receive Christ's life giving body and blood at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a member and served as usher. Jim was joined in Holy Matrimony to Susan Sedonia Miller on September 11, 1965 at Trinity. He enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Jim retired from Tee Pak in Danville where he was employed for 36 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, painting and water skiing. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sports events. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Hembrey. He is survived by his wife Susie; son Scot James (Jane) Bond of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Jamie Sue (Nelson) Manalo of St. Joseph, IL; grandchildren Andrew, Bethany, & Sally Manalo, Kevin, Emma, Olivia, & Jack Bond; great-grandson Tristan Bond; and several nieces and nephews. God called Jim home on October 11, 2015. The family would like to thank the staff members of the Carle Hospice North Team for their service and support. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Thursday October 15, 2015 from 4-7pm. Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday October 16 at 10am followed by burial at Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Danville Lutheran School. Please join Jim's family in sharing memories on his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
