James Ray Osborn

James Ray Osborn, 78, of Danville, Illinois and with family in Huntington, Indiana, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 2:55 p.m., at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois.

Jim was a Danville High School graduate in 1961. He was an Electricians mate graduate in the United States Navy in 1963. Later he completed the General Motors training program to become a journeyman electrician. He retired from General Motors Central Foundry with 30 years of service in 1993. Jim then moved to Huntington, Indiana and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for 10 additional years at Hayes international until 2003. Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville, Illinois.

He was born on February 7, 1943, in Danville, to Earl H. Osborn and Mary Jane Osborn (Cox). He married Priscilla Marie Osborn (Hartz) on July 28, 1974. She survives in Danville, Illinois.

Additional survivors include a brother Earl Osborn of Danville, a son Jeffrey James Osborn and wife Michelle Marie Osborn of Huntington, Indiana, a son James Scott Osborn and wife Micki Osborn of Fithian, Illinois, a step-daughter Cindy Cox and husband Mike Cox of Sanford, Florida, a step-daughter Tammy Randolph of Danville, Illinois, Grandchildren Alex Jeffrey Osborn of Huntington, Alexis Marie Osborn of Huntington, Cloe Kay Osborn of Huntington, Trevor James Osborn, Courtney Baker(Osborn) and husband Andrew Baker of Augusta, Georgia, Michael Cox of Sanford, Florida, Chad Randolph of Chicago, Illinois, Amanda Halem (Randolph) of Danville, Illinois, Cassandra Phebus of San Diego, California, Brian Phebus of Stamford, Texas.

In retirement Jim enjoyed working outside and watching Discovery channel or National Geographic.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. Per James wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
