Cayuga, Ind. - James R. (Jim) Crowder, 83, of Cayuga, left his home to be present with our Lord on February 26, 2016. He was born on May 8, 1932 in Perrysville, Indiana, the son of the late Rex and Lucile (Rhodes) Crowder. He married Marcia J. Heidrick on June 28, 1953, and she passed away on May 9, 2012. Jim was also preceded in death by his brother, Rex Crowder, Jr. Survivors include two sons, Daniel A. (Luann) Crowder of Brownsburg, Indiana and Thomas L. (Karen) Crowder of Cayuga, Indiana; five grandchildren, Matthew A. (Desiree) Crowder, Michael R. (Jenni) Crowder, Amanda M. Crowder, Sylvia L. Crowder and Olivia L. Crowder; and two great grandchildren, Alyssa C. Crowder and Nicholas James Crowder. Jim served his community as a barber, realtor and insurance agent for a total of almost 50 years. He graduated from Perrysville High School in 1950, and was a regular attender of Calvary Baptist Church in (Tilton) Danville, Illinois. Funeral services: 3 p.m. EST Saturday, March 5, 2016 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: 2 p.m. EST Saturday, March 5, 2016 until time of services at the funeral home.
