James P. Huffer

James P. Huffer, 78, of Tilton, IL, passed away in his home at 5:58 pm on Monday, April 29, 2013. He was born on January 23, 1935 to Albert and Grace Preston Huffer. He was married to his wife Rita See on October 23, 1965 in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Sina (J.R.) Williford; and his three grandsons, Joshua, Ryan, and Seth Williford. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dorothy Huffer. James had served his country in the United States Air force. He later began work as a core maker at General Motors, retiring after 27 years. James was a longtime member of the South Side Church of the Nazarene and would teach Sunday school classes as well as usher for the church. James loved to read his bible and listen to southern gospel music. He was also an avid Cardinals fan. A service to celebrate the life of James Huffer will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Kent Pitcher will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, May 2, also at Sunset in Danville.
