RIDGE FARM - James P. Arnett, 83, formerly of Ridge Farm, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 10:15pm, Monday, January 1st, 2007, at North Logan Health Care Center in Danville, IL. James was born in Tompkinsville, KY, on March 14th, 1923, a son of Osco and Susan (Ford) Arnett. He married Lois Claypool on April 23rd, 1949. She survives of Ridge Farm along with their two children: Ramona (John) Hamer of Savoy, IL, and Paul (Alice) Arnett of Danville; his three grandchildren, Melissa, Heather, Timothy; and his four great grandchildren, Colin, Tobin, Jadyn, & Quinton. Also surviving are: two sisters, Grace Yates of Chrisman, IL, and Mabel Hunton of Somerset, KY; a sister-in-law, Gladys Arnett of Ridge Farm, IL; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, three brothers; Clarence, George, Raymond, and his sister; Gertrude, preceded him in death. James was in the US Army from November 1948 to December 1949 stationed at Fort Benning, GA. He retired from Hyster Co. in 1988 and was a longtime member of the Ridge Farm Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed wood working, country & gospel music, reading his Bible and spending time with his family. A celebration of James life will be at 10:00am, Friday, January 5th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Reverend Larry Hopkins and Reverend Mike Lindsey will officiate the service. Final resting place will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be 6p-8pm, Thursday, January 4th, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in James name to North Logan Health Care Center, 801 N Logan Ave, Danville, IL, 61832, or Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, 401 W Washington St, Chrisman, IL 61924.
