James Michael “Mike” Jaruseski, 69, of Danville passed away at 8:30 PM on November 5, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Mike was born on September 29, 1956 in LaSalle-Peru, IL, the oldest son of James and Helen (Current) Jaruseski.
Growing up, Mike lived in various parts of the United States before the family settled in Danville, IL. Mike graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University and a Masters from Eastern Illinois University.
He married Christine Marie Sheets on August 5, 2000 in Danville, IL and they enjoyed over 25 years of blissful marriage. Mike was the loving father of Robbie and Ryan Jaruseski and beloved brother of Jonathan Jaruseski.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents James and Helen and two siblings, Joseph Jaruseski and Patricia Dunn.
Mike was a family man and could be found coaching Little League, serving as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, traveling with his family and working on a variety of projects around the house.
He was a Sales Engineer at Danville Metal Stamping and a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 210, and SME (Society of Mechanical Engineers).
Mike never knew a stranger, was a best friend to everyone he met and always had a smile on his face.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Danville, Illinois, 1303 N Walnut St. Danville, Illinois. Father John Cyr will officiate.
The burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 4:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois with Visitation to follow from 5:00-7:00 PM.
