Danville, Ill. -- James Michael Johnson, 58, of Danville, passed away at 3:01 p.m. EDT Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Roudebush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born August 8, 1951 in Portales, New Mexico, the son of Nettie McCurdy Branch. Survivors include his mother, Nettie Branch of Danville, Illinois; two sisters, Debra(Tommy)Dobbs of Montgomery, Alabama and Carla(Dennis)Naylor, Sr. of Dana, Indiana; brother, Leslie "Blake"(LaDonna)Boyles of Danville, Illinois; brother in law, Lance McDaniel of Tilton, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Jeff(Beth)Holycross and their two children; Skyla(Marcel Mitchell)Holycross and their four children; Ty Cheuvront and his three children; Tony(Sarah)Cheuvront and their two children; Lance(Lindsey)McDaniel and their two children; Shayna(Chris)McQueen and their two children; Amber Boyles; Aaron Boyles and his two children; Shawna Boyles. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennie McDaniel. James was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Army. He enjoyed reading and electronic games. James loved his two dogs, Gizmo and Corona. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Graveside services and burial: 2 P.M. (Illinois Time) Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois with graveside military rites by the Danville V.F.W. Post # 728; Visitation: Noon to 2 P.M.
