James Milton Zorns, 84, of Danville, passed away at Provena Hospital on July 7, 2017. Jim was born July 18, 1932, in Farmington, MI to Roy R. Zorns and Alice M. Davis. On January 27, 1951, he married the love of his life Beverly Louise Cunningham. Together, they built a home of generosity and love. Jim moved from Michigan to Danville soon after his mother died. He started his work career at Grab-It-Here as a grocery bagger. In the early 1950's, he began working for Barkman Chevrolet as a mechanic. In 1956, he joined the Army Reserves and served as a jeep driver for the General. During this time, he and his brother, Harley, managed the Standard Oil Station on North Vermillion Street. After that, Jim and Harley managed the City Service Bulk Plant on Route 150. From there, Jim went to the City Service Station on North Vermilion and was manager there for a few years. He then began working for Volkswagen as a mechanic and worked his way up to service manager. In 1969, he started an RV business, Lakeview Motor Home and Trailer Sales, on the lower lot of his residence. In 1972, the family business was moved to north of Danville on Route 1 where they served the community for 45 years. Jim enjoyed mowing his grass, water skiing, fishing, playing cards, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. His favorite vacations were with them on the houseboat in Kentucky. He also enjoyed the many winters in the Florida Keys fishing and being President of the "Liars Club". Jim always enjoyed teasing and sharing funny life stories. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly (Cunningham) Zorns; his children Kenny (Sandy) Zorns of Danville, IL; Janet (Phil) Starr of Bismarck, IL; Cindy Cummings of Springfield, IL; Marianne (Tommy) Weaver of Long Beach, MS; his grandchildren, Sammie Starr of Greenville, NC; Jacob (Johanna) Starr of Bismarck, IL; Adam (Traca) Zorns of Danville, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Zorns and Ezra Starr.
