Covington, Ind. - James Lloyd Clark, 76, of Covington, Indiana, died at 12:30 p.m. EDT Sunday, September 23, 2012 with his family by his side, at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. Jim was born on October 7, 1935 to the late Lloyd and Ethel Huffman Clark in Urbana, Ohio. On August 31, 1984 Jim married Kathryn Meyer Goodrick in Kingman, Indiana. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Theresa(Vernon Jr.)Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana; Tena(Rodney)Maxfield of Covington, Indiana; Karla(Mark)Cramer of Dana, Indiana and Marsha(David)Lamb of Kingman, Indiana; three step-sons, Dennis(Marian)Hall of Las Vegas, Nevada; John(Heather)Goodrick of Lafayette, Indiana and Joseph(Gayle)Goodrick of Terre Haute, Indiana; two "Chosen Children", Lester Winters and Tracy Shuman both of Covington, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, James(Melissa)Atterbury; Tracy(Rick)Dailey; Stacy(Janice)Peterson; Jamie(Andrew)Wieseman; Lisa(Andrew)Jenner; Dustin(Nicole)Maxfield; Justina(Jeremy Dennis)Belser; Chad Belser; Joshua, Britany and Philip Church; ten step-grandchildren, Kimberly and Tiffany Hall; Carrie, Erin and Conner Goodrick; Taylor Stout, Olivia and Grace Gehring; Cody and Christian Nidlinger; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; four step-great grandchildren; four nieces, Helena Reynolds; Ricky Ping; Paula Phillips and Marcie Johnson and three nephews, Steve Clark; Chuckie Grimes and Greg Daulton. Jim was preceded in death by two great-granddaughters, Brylee and Fynlee; one great-great grandson, Dusty; three sisters, Betty Daulton; Ruby Grimes and Helen King. Jim retired after 21 years of being a rural mail carrier for Cayuga and Perrysville. For many years he was co-owner of C&C Drainage with Bill Cook. In 1994 Jim and his wife, Kathy started Tri-County Charging just west of the Beef House. Jim was often referred to as the starter and alternator man. Jim also served as Vermillion County Commissioner for the third district. Jim loved to bowl and pitch horseshoes. He was a past member of the Danville Hoseshoe Club. Jim also bowled four 300 games, a 298 and a 296. One goal Jim always had was to win the Budwieser Bowling Tournament held in Danville, Illinois. When he won, he put his ball away and never bowled again. The family would like to thank Dr's. William Ringer, Michael Stewart, Steven Fisher and the nursing staff at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital for their compassionate care of Jim and his famly. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EDT Thursday, September 27, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Paul Kent; Burial: Mann's Chapel Cemetery in Rossville, Illinois; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
