James Lee Gallion, 78, of Westville passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. He was born on July 13, 1943, to Sherman and Josephine (Verando) Gallion. Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy (Talbert) Gallion. They were married August 14, 1965 (56 years) at St. Marys Church in Westville.
Their son Chris (LeAnn) Gallion survives along with grandchildren Kendra (Eric) Hepburn, Jacob Gallion, Morgan Gallion and great grand daughter Lillian Jo Ann Hepburn.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grand parents Sherman and Ethel Gallion and Helen Verando, father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Ernestine Talbert.
Jim graduated from Schlarman High School in 1961. He was employed at R&S Printing for 36 years. He retired from Thyssen Krupp Machining. After retirement he was a sub-Custodian for the Westville School District and later did printing for the School District. Jim started his baseball coaching career with the Westville Rec League coaching his sons T-Ball team and continued coaching his son untill he graduated Junior High. He also was a Cub Master for Troop 249 for a period of time. Jim was a member of the original Westville Boosters Club. Jim will be remembered by his friends and family for his love of motorcycles and cruising the roads of Vermilion County.
A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 11am on Saturday September 25, 2021, with Reverend David Robberts-Mosser officiating. Everyone is invited to attend. Per Jims wishes cremation rites were accorded entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, 414 S State Street Westville Illinois. Memorials may be given to Trinity United Church of Christ, 311 E. Moses Avenue, Westville, Illinois 61883 or a charity of your choice.
