James Lawrence Beckley

James Lawrence Beckley (Larry), 64 of Danville Illinois, passed away peacefully Friday December 31, 2021. He was being treated and cared for at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville.

Larry was born December 13, 1957, to Imogene and Jim Beckley in Danville, Illinois. He was the middle child, having an older sister Karen and younger brother Howard. He attended Bismarck High school class of 76. Larry was an avid landscape specialist and loving father. During his life he resided in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Illinois, creating lasting memories and lifelong friends in every city. When not working, he enjoyed salmon and trout fishing, gardening, adventuring, watching sports and spending time with family and friends. Larry had a heart filled with love, a laugh that filled the room and a spirit that never stopped dreaming.

Larry was survived by his fianc Patty Kelsey, his children Brittany Beckley (Charlie), Bethany Hummel (Bryan), his grandchildren Alivia Harrison and Liam Harrison, step children Ben Kelsey (Jessica) and Katie Ebersole (Jacob), mother Imogene Beckley, Brother Howard Beckley and sister-in-law Jacque Beckley, nieces Evan Lawrence, Amanda Cox and Lauren Morton and two loving dogs Daisy and Diane.

Larry was preceded in death by the mother of his children Cricket Beckley, his father Jim Beckley and his sister Karen Wilson.

There will be a memorial service held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL on Wednesday January 5, 2022, with a visiting hour from 6:00 to 7:00 followed by the service at 7:00 open to the public. We encourage all who knew him to join us in his memory as we celebrate his life, his legacy and abundance of love together.
