Danville James "Larry" Watson, 81, of Danville passed away at 4:05 AM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, IN. He was born July 13, 1941 in Thomas Station, IN to James and Elizabeth (Wolfe) Watson. He married the love of his life Patricia "Patti" Poulson on February 17, 1961 in Danville. Larry and Patti recently celebrated 62 years of marriage together. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Chris (Russ) Phillips and Cindy (Jay) Johnson, both of Danville; four grandchildren, Kierstyn Paris, Whitney Phillips, Gracie Johnson and Ana Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Mattix, Sawyer, and Maverick; brother, Rick Watson; former son-in-law, Tim Gombosch; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Suzi Wren.
Larry was a jack of all trades and could many times be found working outdoors. His paradise was the "Back 40" in the woods where he loved to cut & haul trees and move dirt with his bulldozer. Larry was a member of the Congregational Church of Nokomis, FL which he would attend while in the area. When in Danville he attended faithfully at Farmers Chapel Methodist Church and then hit the road to make the service at Bismarck First Church of Christ.
A private graveside service for Larry Watson will be held at Potomac Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834 has been entrusted with cremation rites.
