James Larry Rollins

James Larry Rollins, 77, of Danville passed away at 12:37pm on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 20, 1941 in Urbana, IL, the son of James "Pete" & June (Mcmanaway) Rollins, both proceeded him in death. He was united in marriage to Carol Mann on September 8, 1963, she survives. He will be dearly missed by his son, Michael (Michele) Rollins; daughter, Michelle (Terry) Celori; brother, Jack (Bev) Rollins; grandchildren, Sarah Cornell, Scott Rollins, Samantha & Julie Celori; great grandchildren, Logan Belt, Ellie Belt & Jackson White; cousins, Julie Lind, Cathy Lyons & Debbie Lovelace. Larry worked for the Danville Police Department for 26 years retiring in 1995. Then worked for the Marshall service, working security at the federal court house. He was also proud to service his country in the United States National Guard. Larry was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville & the American Legion. He loved hunting, fishing, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears & spending time with his family. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville with Rev. Michael Heidle officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery, Danville.
