James Kenneth Ken Fetters, 77, of Catlin, passed this Life on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on November 22, 1932, in Danville, the son of Mr. William and Mrs. Ruth (Willard) Fetters. On July 28, 1956, in Danville, Ken married Ms. Geraldine Combs until her death in 1963. On January 1, 1966, in Bismarck, Ken married Ms. Ruth Jo Ann (Tate) Hadley. She survives along with three sons, Curt(Ulla) McGee of Menlo Park, CA, Robert Bobby(Laurie) McGee of San Antonio, TX, and Stephen (Denyse) Hadley of Carmel, IN. Also surviving Ken are his eleven grandchildren, Ruth and Martha McGee of Menlo Park, CA, Ryan (Sada) McGee of Dewitt, IL, Robbie (Maria)McGee of Lewisville, TX, Paige McGee (Chris) Debner of San Antonia, TX, Nathan, Abigail, Hannah, Luke, Rebekah, and Lydia Hadley of Carmel, IN. His five great grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb McGee of Lewisville, TX, Savannah, Nick and Nate McGee of Dewitt, IL, also survive Ken, along with his 3 brothers, Charles Chuck(Lela) Fetters of Charlotte, NC, Howard (Sara)Fetters of Anderson, S.C., Lowell Butch(Gail)Fetters Danville, IL, and his sister, Emma Fetters (Glen) Brandenburg of Hoopeston, IL, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother, Alton Eugene Gene Fetters, and two sisters, Opel Carpenter and Margaret Peggy Bracewell, precede Ken in death. Ken was a 1950 Danville High School graduate, a United States Navy Veteran, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1954, as well as a graduate from Cincinnati Bible Seminary with a Bachelors of Sacred Literature in 1961. He later returned to the area and began his ministry at the Bismarck Church of Christ for 22 years, the St. Joseph Childrens Home for 3 years, as well as the St. Joseph Church of Christ for 10 years, before his retirement. A Celebration of the Life of Ken Fetters will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Catlin Church of Christ located at 715 W. Vermilion St. in Catlin with internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville.
