James Jimmy Rhoton, 89, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 5:55pm, Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born on December 13, 1924, the son of Ezra and Delcie {Netherton} Rhoton. On December 28, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mary Butz. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his daughters, Donna Kearns of Olivet & Cheryl Evans of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Troy Miller, Jimmy Lamar, Anthony Dompe, & Terra Holler; and his great grandchildren, Jaxen Davis, Madyx Davis, Sabrina Miller, & Zach Miller. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister; his son-in-law, Bill; and his brother-in-law, Charles Butz. Jimmy owned and operated the Marathon Gas Station in Ridge Farm and was a mechanic at the Peterson Filling Company for 20 years. He was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and served during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Musician Union. He enjoyed spending time with his family. A celebration of Jimmys life will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Presence Cancer Center.
